You are bidding on a Used Conn 50H Tenor Trombone. Conn 50H Tenor Trombone. Made in Elkhart, Indiana, USA. Circa 1965 manufacture date. Medium (0.525″) bore. 8.5 inch bell. Standard wrap F attachment with “E” pull. Standard rotary valve with string linkage. Brass slide with nickel handgrips. Small shank mouthpiece receiver. Condition: Hand Slide – Action is a “C+” – smooth but somewhat heavy. No dents, though a few “lumps.” Bell – 99% undented except for a repaired dent on the bell flare (see Lacquer below), and a few smaller dents on the main tuning slide. Tuning Slides – Action is effortless. F slide has been resoldered. Main slide has a few small dents but is otherwise completely round. Valve – Standard rotary valve has new string and operates perfectly. Valve is airtight and quiet. Lacquer – Good condition overall, though aged in color, with (a) significant wear on the underside of the handslide (raw brass is evident and is discolored) (b) in a dented area on the backside of the bell flare, and (c) in a patch of scratches on the bell flare approximately opposite the mouthpiece. In all areas where the lacquer is gone, the brass has aged to a rust-crimson color. Case: Very Good condition. All latches operate and latch springs operate. Original plastic handle is present. Case has a musty smell but is not overpowering. Minor scuffs on the exterior. In one place, about 10 inches of the edge mold has pulled away from the exterior board. The case, though an original factory model with Conn logo, appears to be from the 1970′s instead of the 1960′s. Unsure of whether it is the horn’s original case or a later replacement.
