This is a VERY NICE Olds P24G professional bass trombone. This one is sometimes referred to as the "George Roberts" model, but that isn't quite true. Mr. Roberts did indeed play a similar model for a time, but he played the single-valve version of this horn. This one is a dual, independent rotor bass trombone set up in Bb/F/Gb/D. And like just about every other Olds trombone I've ever played, it plays GREAT. It is in excellent condition. Original lacquer is 95%, with some minor wear here and there. There are a couple of minor dings here and there, but nothing significant. Slide is very good. Valves are excellent. The horn has been completely refurbished and is in what we believe to be its original factory specifications. It has also been sterilized. From the rubber tip at the end of the slide, to the graceful flare of its bell, all has been scrutinized. The nickel silver inner slides have been completely re-plated. All valves, springs and moving parts are either new or in superb working order. Both the tuning and playing slides work without hesitation. You are bidding on a Super Olds trombone mase in Los Angeles California, serial #46479, vintage 1950 in amazing condition. The bell of this instrument is red brass, the rest of the instrument is solid nickel. The slide is in perfect condition with no stocking wear. This is the model/vintage of Super Olds that has 16 side fluted slides. No dents. Prior to listing on Ebay this instrument has recieved an ultrasonic cleaning, new corks, bumpers, as needed @ Meridian Winds. This instrument is being listed on Ebay for it's original owner. IMPORTANT TO INTERNATIONAL: You will need to check your country's Postal Regulations to see what service is required to be able to receive this instrument. The package will exceed length + girth of 79 inches (201 cm). While many countries will be able to receive this instrument via US Priority International, which is reasonably priced, some (Australia for example) would require the most expensive service (US Express Guaranteed) to accommodate a package of this size. PLEASE WAIT FOR INVOICE, as insurance must be figured and added in. This is an Olds Super trombone serial number 21756, made (according to fairly reliable charts) around 1947. The serial numbers match on the bell and slide sections. There is scarcely any lacquer left on the instrument. That said, the overall condition is very good+ and there appear to never have been any previous repairs. There is a very small, slight edge of the bell bend at 3 o'clock as you're playing the horn; there are a couple of bee-bee dings on the bell flare and an area of shallow marks that are consistent with a loose slide in a case; the very edge of the bottom receiver tube of the tuning slide has the tiniest ruffle (see photo- slide works fine); the handslide has no hitch in it but needs a cleaning; there is one minute and inconsequential ping (see photo of single stocking) on one slide stocking. This is a nice straight horn that needs very little work. There's no plating wear on the inner slide and the tubes in and out are straight. The case is not original; it's in pretty decent shape, smells a little musty but not stinky- definitely useable.

All purchases go to benefiting the Colchester High School Band's purchasing of new instruments! Serial #: 166012 This trombone is, basically, a fixer-upper. Residing in the band room for many years, it has no player, so we're putting it up for sale. The case that it comes with is in fine shape on the outside, but on the inside it's battered. There are some rips in the fabric. We should also point out that the Pan American trombone comes in an Olds case. The trombone itself is dented and scratched like any used brass instrument. However, there is a distinct 'old' smell on this trombone. With some serious cleaning it may lose it's "old instrument" smell, but it's important to be aware of.
