Getzen Super Deluxe Tone Balanced Valve Trombone Elkhorn Wis. Serial number 82799 . No Dents. Had some minor dents where the mouthpiece receiver was thumping against the bell over the years while it was in the case. The last 12 inches of the bell were smoothed out last week by the best shop in Denver. Also a new water key spring and cork was added. No mouthpiece included. Wedge-shaped case is solid, two keys, locks work, latches still spring open for now, hinges are strong. Bell diameter is 7.25 inches, bore size is around .468 . "Extra" exact same bell included that has NOT been smoothed out for those gigs where you're crammed onto a small club stage or are working with clumsy band members. All tuning slides fit exactly tight and right. New valve felts, corks and springs, and the valve height is adjusted correctly. Sounds really great and the valve action is excellent. All top and bottom valve caps and button pearls look to be in mint condition like the horn was never played. Horn is raw brass with the lacquer gone. The long tubing (that I think is nickel) looks to be solid and not plated, and it looks to me like the factory made it from the same material that inner trombone slides are made from. It had some minor dings removed from the long tubing and there are visible small nicks and scuffs and the brass has fine scratches all over as would be expected from a horn this old, but no real dents, just tiny dings here and there. It has had some solder repairs like the crook on the far end was removed to reach the dings and has a few spots of solder that could be polished off a little better but it's more like a thin dark spot and can be polished off easily. The five inch tubing that is right before where the bell attaches was broken off (when I bought it) halfway through the knuckle that enters the bottom of the first valve. The tube was replaced and a brass patch was soldered over the knuckle and can be viewed in the final photo. You'll be able to see I did a good repair and it's probably better than when it came out of the factory. Alot of valve trombones seem to break at that spot probably because they are put on horn stands and the heavy part of the horn is hanging off balance and breaks. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you want a photo taken of something. PayPal payment due within 3 days. No Returns. Sold as is. Lower 48 states only.
